INFORMATION
Consultation of documents preserved in the Historical Archive of Fondazione Roma is subject to obtaining authorization from the Archival Superintendent for Lazio, requested by the user through the form available on the institutional website of the Superintendency.
The Superintendent’s authorization letter must be forwarded to the Historical Archive attached to the application for admission to consultation in which, in addition to personal data and academic qualifications, the user must declare to know and respect both the rules established by the Historical Archive Regulations and the current laws regarding access to data and documents (Code of ethics and good conduct for processing personal data for historical purposes), also indicating the theme and purpose of the research.
The authorization is valid for one year from the date of application submission and refers to the research theme for which it was requested. Upon expiration of this term, and in case there is a need to conduct studies in different areas from that for which authorization was granted, the user must repeat the bureaucratic process, submitting a new authorization request to the Archival Superintendency of Lazio and another access application to the Historical Archive.
The user may request a maximum of three archival units (box, folder, file, special format document) per day.
Users admitted to consultation may obtain reproduction via photocopying machine of examined documents, excluding those that are bound, easily deteriorated, larger than A3 sheet size, and entire archival series, by completing the appropriate request form. Should the reproduction of examined documents be intended for publication, the user has the obligation to submit an authorization request declaring to observe copyright provisions and to cite the archival source in the publication.
The user undertakes to deposit a copy of the research results at the Historical Archive.
Access to the consultation room is permitted by appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. For information, research, sending properly completed, signed and complete documentation with attachments, and for scheduling appointments, contact:
